🏈💔 AT JUST 8, THIS EAGLES FAN IS FACING CANCER INSTEAD OF CHASING HIS FOOTBALL DREAMS

Eight-year-old Braxton Bradley is a third grader from Rome, Georgia, who loves football, video games and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Like many young football fans, Braxton had dreams of becoming an athlete someday. His favorite player is Eagles star Saquon Barkley, and his family could easily imagine him spending his childhood running around with a football in his hands.

Now, however, Braxton is facing a very different challenge.

On August 1, he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

The cancer is currently localized to Braxton’s right femur, but doctors discovered that the tumor is large and has already caused significant deterioration of the bone.

His family has been warned that even slight pressure could potentially cause the weakened bone to break.

For an active 8-year-old who loves football and swimming, the diagnosis has changed nearly every part of daily life.

Braxton has already undergone surgery to have a chemotherapy port placed and is now wearing a brace on his right leg to help protect it.

Next week, he will return to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to continue chemotherapy.

If everything goes according to plan, his treatment is expected to last approximately eight to nine months.

For now, school has been put on hold.

So have many of the activities that once filled his days.

Football and swimming are temporarily out of reach as Braxton focuses on getting through treatment and protecting his leg.

His mother, Amber, says her son is incredibly smart. Braxton has been part of the gifted program since first grade, and his family describes him as one of the funniest kids around.

Even with everything changing so quickly, he remains the same bright and energetic little boy his family knows and loves.

The diagnosis is still new, and Braxton’s family knows the road ahead will not be easy.

There will be chemotherapy appointments, medical procedures, difficult days and months of uncertainty.

But there will also be moments of courage, family support and hope.

For now, his loved ones are asking people to keep Braxton close in their thoughts and prayers as he begins this long fight.
