‼️ EIGHT-YEAR-OLD ALAYNA MANCES FACES LEUKEMIA RELAPSE AS HER FAMILY FIGHTS FOR ANOTHER TREATMENT OPTION
For eight-year-old Alayna Mances, ringing the cancer bell was supposed to mark the beginning of a new chapter.
After months of treatment for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), Alayna reached a moment her family had been praying for. On May 4, she rang the bell, celebrating what appeared to be the end of an exhausting period of treatment.
But the celebration lasted only 22 days.
On May 26, Alayna’s leukemia relapsed.
Alayna was originally diagnosed with AML on October 1, 2025. According to her family, she endured approximately eight months of treatment before reaching the milestone that had given everyone hope.
After the relapse, doctors tried additional rounds of chemotherapy. Her mother says the treatments have not stopped the leukemia and have instead left Alayna increasingly sick. Doctors are also concerned that the disease may have affected her skin. Biopsies have been performed, and the family is awaiting the results.
The family says they were given devastating news: without another effective treatment option, Alayna may have only a limited amount of time remaining.
But her mother is not ready to give up.
One possible option being considered is CAR T-cell immunotherapy, a form of cellular treatment that can be used for certain blood cancers. Alayna’s mother understands that there are no guarantees, but she says she wants to pursue every reasonable possibility for her daughter.
The family was presented with several potential hospitals, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a children’s hospital in Seattle.
They chose St. Jude.
“We will not accept, ‘There’s not much more we can do,’” Alayna’s mother said. “We are going to try everything possible.”
Her family describes Alayna as sweet, spirited, and full of personality — a little girl who deserves the chance to grow up, make memories, and experience the life ahead of her. 💙
Now, the family is asking for support as they navigate additional medical expenses and treatment costs that may not be covered.
Her mother’s message is simple: she wants more time for her daughter.
“I have to try what I can to save my daughter,” she said. “Please help us get my baby help… so she can live her life.”
The family has shared a Cash App donation option at $5KidsWow and is also asking people who cannot contribute financially to simply share Alayna’s story.
The road ahead may be uncertain, and the family knows the odds may be difficult.
But for them, hope is still worth fighting for.
At just eight years old, Alayna is still fighting for tomorrow. 🙏💙
