Tiara Manica was just 17 years old.

Her roommate and close friend, Navayah Dorsey, was only 18.

In the early morning hours of October 4, Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the 100 block of East Southland Boulevard after receiving reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they found two young women suffering from gunsH๏τ wounds.

Both teenagers were pronounced ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at the scene.

They were later identified as Tiara Manica and Navayah Dorsey.

For their families, the tragedy was followed by an agonizing period of uncertainty.

Tiara’s mother, Meredith Manica, has spoken publicly about the moment she learned her daughter was gone. She has also repeatedly called for answers about what happened inside the apartment and why the investigation has not resulted in charges.
