As September 30 approaches, attorneys representing Tennessee death-row prisoner Christa Pike are asking officials to make changes to how her scheduled exec#tion would be carried out.

⚖️ Lawyers Challenge Conditions Inside the Execution Chamber

Pike’s attorneys have raised concerns about the presence of male officers during the process, arguing that she has a significant fear of being restrained by men. Her legal team is seeking accommodations related to who would be involved in physically restraining or handling her.

The defense is also continuing to challenge aspects of Tennessee’s lethal-injection protocol, adding another legal issue as the scheduled date approaches.

⏳ September 30 Remains the Scheduled Date

Pike is currently scheduled to face exec#tion on September 30, 2026, at Riverbend Maximum Security Insтιтution in Nashville.

She was convicted in connection with the 1995 mu#der of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer, a fellow Job Corps participant. Pike was sentenced to d#ath in 1996 and has spent decades on Tennessee’s d#ath row.

Her attorneys have also pursued clemency, asking Gov. Bill Lee to commute her sentence to life without parole. Their peтιтion has raised arguments concerning Pike’s childhood trauma, mental-health history and age at the time of the offense.

The latest request does not by itself change Pike’s scheduled exec#tion date. Any alteration to the procedure would depend on decisions by Tennessee officials or the courts.
