🚨 A MᴀssACHUSETTS MOTHER ACCUSED OF KILLING HER TWO YOUNG CHILDREN HAS ASKED A JUDGE TO DISMISS THE CASE AND ALLOW HER TO WALK FREE — BUT THE COURT HAS DENIED THE REQUEST. 💔

Janette MacAusland, 49, is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children, 7-year-old Kai and 6-year-old Ella.

The siblings were found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ inside their family home in Wellesley, Mᴀssachusetts, on April 24.

The case has shocked the community and emerged against the backdrop of a contentious divorce and custody dispute between MacAusland and her estranged husband.

According to police records cited in court documents, MacAusland later appeared unexpectedly at her aunt’s home in Bennington, Vermont, approximately 140 miles away. She reportedly had self-inflicted injuries to her neck.

When investigators questioned her about the children, police records allege that MacAusland admitted to strangling them before attempting to take her own life.

Her aunt also told investigators that MacAusland said she wanted herself and the children to “go to God together.”

Those allegations are now central to a criminal case that remains before the court.

MacAusland’s defense attorney, Joseph Krowski, recently argued that prosecutors do not currently have sufficient evidence to continue holding his client. He asked the judge to dismiss the charges or release MacAusland.

Prosecutors opposed the request.

One issue raised in court was that the medical examiner had not yet officially completed the determination of the children’s causes and manners of death.

Despite the defense request, the judge denied the motions and ordered MacAusland to remain jailed without bail.

MacAusland has pleaded not guilty to both murder charges.

The circumstances surrounding the children’s deaths are especially painful because the tragedy unfolded during an already difficult custody battle.

Court records indicate that just three days before Kai and Ella died, a guardian had reportedly been appointed as part of the ongoing custody proceedings.

For the children’s loved ones, however, the legal arguments cannot change the most devastating fact: two young lives are gone.

Kai was only seven.

Ella was six.

They should have been worrying about school, birthdays, friends and the ordinary moments of childhood — not becoming the center of a murder investigation.

As the case moves forward, prosecutors still face the task of presenting evidence in court, while MacAusland remains legally presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The allegations against her are extraordinarily serious, but the final determination belongs to the judicial process.

For now, the judge has rejected the request for freedom, and MacAusland remains in custody without bail.
