🚁💙 A TRAGIC DRIVEWAY ACCIDENT CHANGED LITTLE SAGE’S LIFE—BUT HIS COURAGE CONTINUES TO AMAZE EVERYONE ❤️🩹👦

What began as an ordinary afternoon of children playing outside turned into a life-changing ordeal for two-year-old Sage Wilson and his family.
Sage was accidentally struck by a family friend’s reversing vehicle outside his home and was dragged approximately 35 feet before the driver, unaware of what had happened, continued driving away.
His mother, Jamie Wilson, had stepped inside for only a few minutes while her children were playing in the front yard. When she returned, she found Sage crying with devastating injuries to his head.
“There was blood everywhere,” Jamie recalled. “Part of the skin on the left side of his head had been torn away, and I could see part of his skull. I immediately gathered my children, called for my husband, and rushed to get help.”

While driving toward the hospital, emergency dispatchers instructed the family to pull over so an ambulance could meet them. Sage was then transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
There, surgeons performed emergency surgery to treat a skull fracture and remove gravel and debris that had become embedded in his head after the accident. Doctors explained that the debris was placing dangerous pressure on his brain and that the outcome could have been far worse if a major blood vessel had been damaged.
Over the following weeks, Sage underwent three surgeries, including a skin graft that used healthy scalp tissue to help close his wound. Although he will have permanent scars and hair will never grow in the affected area, his recovery has continued with remarkable determination.
After spending two weeks in the hospital, Sage was finally able to return home with his family. He continues to wear a wound vacuum device around the clock to promote healing and is expected to undergo additional reconstructive surgeries as he grows.
Despite everything he has endured, his mother says Sage remains cheerful and full of life.
“He is our little miracle,” Jamie shared. “He’s in such good spirits despite everything. He doesn’t really understand what happened, but we’re so thankful he’s still with us.”
Jamie has also spoken openly about the accident, emphasizing that she does not blame her friend.
“She had no idea what had happened and was absolutely heartbroken,” Jamie said. “It was a tragic accident. We’re still friends, and I know she will carry this with her forever.”
Instead, she hopes their family’s experience reminds other parents and caregivers how quickly accidents can happen.
“Please never take your eyes off your children when they’re outside. It only takes a moment for everything to change.”
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that investigators determined the incident was a tragic accident, with no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
Today, Sage’s journey is one of resilience, hope, and healing. While he still faces more surgeries and a long road to recovery, his courage continues to inspire everyone around him, proving that even after life’s darkest moments, hope can still shine brightly. 💙✨
