Hundreds of family members, friends, classmates, teachers, and community supporters gathered in Palm Bay, Florida, to celebrate the life of 15-year-old Isaiah Irizarry, a teenager whose kindness, determination, and dreams left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

The emotional celebration of life came just weeks after Isaiah was fatally injured in a hit-and-run collision while riding an electric scooter along Viera Boulevard in Brevard County. Although investigators continue working to identify the driver involved, Isaiah’s loved ones say their focus is not only on seeking justice but also on preserving the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, investigators have located and processed a vehicle believed to be connected to the case. However, no arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains active.

Inside the church, Isaiah’s favorite colors—yellow and purple—filled the sanctuary, while family members and friends carried bright sunflowers in tribute to the teenager whose future was filled with extraordinary ambitions.

His aunt and legal guardian, Deanna Irizarry, shared heartfelt memories of a young man who dreamed without limits. Isaiah hoped one day to play professional basketball in the NBA, dedicating countless hours to the sport he loved. At the same time, he also dreamed of serving his country as a United States Navy pilot, flying the F-35 Lightning fighter aircraft.

His family believed he possessed both the determination and the work ethic to pursue whichever path he ultimately chose.

Instead of preparing for high school milestones and future opportunities, his loved ones now face the unimaginable task of celebrating a life that ended far too soon.

Yet amid their grief, Isaiah’s family has found comfort in knowing that his compᴀssion continues to make a difference.

Following his pᴀssing, Isaiah became an organ donor, with his kidneys, liver, and heart valves helping save or improve the lives of four people. His family says that knowing other families have been given hope through Isaiah’s gift has brought them strength during an incredibly difficult time.

Inspired by their experience, they are also encouraging parents to help their teenagers obtain state identification cards. Deanna explained that having proper identification can help emergency responders quickly identify victims and notify families more efficiently during critical situations.

Rather than allowing tragedy to define Isaiah’s story, his loved ones hope his life inspires conversations about organ donation, emergency preparedness, and the importance of treasuring every moment with those we love.

As investigators continue searching for the person responsible for the collision, the Irizarry family remains hopeful that answers will eventually come.
