At a routine 20-week ultrasound, Kitty’s parents expected to see their growing baby. Instead, doctors discovered heart abnormalities and concerns that she might have Down syndrome. 💔🩺

Further scans revealed two congenital heart defects and a problem with her digestive tract that would require surgery soon after birth.

When Kitty finally arrived, her mother had only 15 precious minutes to hold her before she was taken for specialized care. ❤️

At just five days old, Kitty underwent surgery for an intestinal blockage. Three days later, she needed another operation for a narrowed section of her aorta. But the challenges didn’t stop there.

🩵 Doctors later diagnosed Hyperinsulinism Hyperammonemia Syndrome (HIHA), causing dangerous blood-sugar problems. She also experienced seizures and serious heart complications, spending months surrounded by hospital monitors, medications, and surgeries.

🙏 At one of the hardest moments, her mother could only pray and hope that her little girl would not have to suffer.

But Kitty kept fighting.

✨ After being transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, specialists found a treatment her body could tolerate. Slowly, stability replaced crisis, and after months in the hospital, Kitty finally went home. 🏡💕
