For 8-year-old Joshua, December 2007 began like any other winter day. He was surrounded by the familiar comforts of childhood, including the family dogs he had grown up loving and trusting. One of them was so close to him that it even slept beside him at night. 🐶❤️

On a freezing December day, Joshua fell on icy ground, setting off a devastating chain of events that would alter the course of his childhood. What followed left him with severe facial injuries and began a long, painful journey toward recovery.

Joshua’s road back would not be measured in weeks or months. It would stretch across years and involve approximately 60 reconstructive surgeries, countless medical appointments and an unimaginable amount of physical and emotional endurance. 🏥💔
