🚨 HE HAD ONLY JUST STARTED PRESCHOOL. DAYS LATER, HIS FAMILY LOST THEIR LITTLE “GOLDEN BOY.”

The family of two-year-old Peter Mulcaire is facing unimaginable heartbreak after the little boy died following a devastating collision in County Limerick, Ireland.

Peter was reportedly playing on his toy tractor on Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a jeep in an alleged hit-and-run. The collision caused catastrophic injuries, and despite efforts to help him, Peter died.

For those who knew him, however, Peter was much more than the details of a tragic road incident. He was a beloved son, little brother, nephew and a source of happiness for an entire family.

The timing of the tragedy has made the loss especially painful.

Just days before his death, Peter had reached a milestone his family had proudly celebrated: his first day of preschool.

His mother, Kerrie Mulcaire, shared pH๏τographs marking “Peter’s first day of preschool 2026.” In the images, the blonde-haired toddler appeared happy and full of energy, standing beside a blue display celebrating the beginning of a new chapter.

It was the kind of pH๏τograph families take without ever imagining that it might one day become a treasured memory of a child who is no longer there.

Peter leaves behind his mother Kerrie, his father Jim Harty and his older brother Jim.

His aunt Teresa Harty offered an emotional glimpse into the little boy’s personality as relatives began sharing their grief. She described Peter as a special blonde boy who was enormously loved by his aunts and uncles.

Teresa said Peter “meant the world” to the family.

She also revealed the affectionate name Peter’s mother had for him: her “golden boy.”

Those words now carry an even deeper meaning for a family trying to understand how their lives could change so suddenly.

Teresa also spoke about the close relationship between Peter and his father. She described his daddy as his best friend and said Peter, his father and his older brother were like three best friends together.

For Peter’s older brother, the loss means growing up without the little sibling who should have shared countless childhood memories with him.

Friends, relatives and members of the wider community have responded with an outpouring of sympathy. Messages remembering Peter described him as a “beautiful boy,” a “little angel” and a child who was gone far too soon. 🕊️
