‼️ A SINGLE ALABAMA CRASH HAS LEFT ONE FAMILY GRIEVING TWO CHILDREN WHILE PRAYING FOR A THIRD SIBLING TO SURVIVE.

Alonso Alvarado was 16 years old.

His little sister, Lia Miriam Alvarado, was only 10.

Their 18-year-old brother, Juan, is now hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in the same crash.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the three siblings were traveling Friday afternoon when their pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree approximately six miles west of Steele.

Alonso reportedly died at the scene.

Lia was critically injured and transported to a hospital, where she later pᴀssed away.

Juan also suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized. According to their relative, Maria Morales, Juan underwent surgery, while the family continues to wait for doctors to determine the full extent of his condition.

“Our family is heartbroken and trying to process an unimaginable amount of pain all at once,” Maria wrote.

The family is now facing a reality no parent should ever have to endure.

Two children are gone.

Another is still fighting in a hospital.

And all three were involved in the same devastating crash. 💔

Authorities said none of the three siblings was wearing a seat belt at the time. Troopers continue investigating what caused the truck to leave the roadway.

The tragedy has also deeply affected the communities where Alonso and Lia went to school.

St. Clair County Schools confirmed that two students in the district were killed and said additional counselors and crisis-response staff are being made available at several schools to support students and employees struggling to process the loss.

“There is nothing I can say that makes a day like this any easier,” Superintendent Rusty St. John said. “Our hearts and prayers are with the families, and with the Steele and Ashville communities.”

Those who knew Lia have remembered her as a sweet little girl who touched the lives of people around her.

Now, as the family prepares to say goodbye to Alonso and Lia, their focus is also on Juan and his recovery.

Maria shared a final message that captured the grief surrounding the family:

“Rest in peace, Alonso Alvarado and Lia Miriam Alvarado. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.”

Their family has asked for prayers—not only for Juan, but for everyone carrying this loss.
