❤️ A heartfelt and moving update from the Will Roberts family
Brittney has just shared a very honest message—unembellished, and making no promises of miracles.“This drug is not some magical secret cure that instantly fixes everything.”Will’s bone cancer has progressed to a very advanced stage.

From the very beginning, doctors were blunt: survival would be nothing short of a miracle.

They could only promise to provide a better quality of life during the time he has left. Yet, the family chose to hold onto hope.
They did not travel to California because of a promise of a cure.

They went because they knew exactly what the outcome would be if they remained in Alabama on the standard treatment protocol.

Although they had an excellent medical team, given the current stage of Will’s cancer, no child has ever survived it.

They went to seek a slightly better chance—and to help advance the development of DeltaRex-G, ensuring that other families would not have to endure the suffering they are currently going through.Brittney continued writing, with palpable anguish:
“If this drug had been available to Will last September—when scans first detected only a small, suspicious spot—I believe we wouldn’t be in this position today.”

Currently, Will’s tumor markers have risen again after his chemotherapy was delayed due to insurance issues.

BCBS initially refused to approve Denosumab (a more expensive drug, but one that is safer for the kidneys), forcing the family to wait for an appeal. While the paperwork dragged on, the cancer waited for no one.

This is the harsh reality that so many families facing cancer must confront:
Paperwork, costs, and FDA regulations sometimes move even slower than the rate at which the disease metastasizes.Nevertheless, Will’s family remains resilient. They are continuing with DeltaRex-G, continuing to hope, and continuing to fight—one day at a time. Will still smiles, still strives to keep his spirits up, and still believes in progress, no matter how small.
