Friend Remembers Caroline Peña Ahead of Emotional Final Farewell

A close friend of Caroline Peña is preparing to say a heartbreaking final goodbye after the Texas mother of five was fatally stabbed in an attack that authorities say involved two sisters and another woman.

Nearly a week after Peña’s death, her longtime friend Christina Salinas shared an emotional message about the pain of losing someone she loved.

“Taking a deep breath and preparing my heart to see you one last time. Missing you is a heavy kind of love,” Salinas wrote.
She admitted that facing the reality of the funeral would be one of the hardest moments of her life.

“I know today at work it’s going to kill me all day thinking in just hours I’ll face reality. I love you. This week has been one of the hardest ones in my life.”

Salinas also revealed that she had been asked by Peña’s family to deliver a reading during the memorial service, which is expected to take place in Del Rio, Texas.

“I’m truly honored. I’m so glad your family picked me and gave me the opportunity,” she wrote, adding, “You’re gone, but you will never be forgotten. I promise I’ll try my hardest to stay strong.”
In another tribute, Salinas shared an older pH๏τo of herself and Peña together, remembering happier moments before tragedy struck.

According to investigators, 32-year-old Caroline Peña was attacked on June 26 in Del Rio. Authorities allege that Amaya “Cookie” Diaz, 19, stabbed Peña multiple times, while Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, also participated in the ᴀssault.

Court documents state that Peña suffered two stab wounds to the back and one to the abdomen. One of the injuries punctured her lung, an injury that proved fatal.

A friend identified only as Tina told local media that the wound to Peña’s lung ultimately caused her death.

After the attack, Peña was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to San Antonio for emergency treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, she later died from her injuries.

Family members said Peña leaves behind five children, including two with special needs, and described the devastating impact her loss will have on their lives.

The three suspects were arrested approximately two hours after the incident. Authorities have confirmed that Peña knew the women accused in the attack, although investigators have not disclosed the nature of their relationship.

Police have not announced a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing. However, officials believe the attack was not a random act of violence.
