SCARLETT UPDATE: HER FAMILY IS WATCHING EVERY CHANGE CLOSELY

It has been a little while since Scarlett’s last update, and while there is no major breakthrough to report, her family says several changes are being monitored carefully.

Recently, they began trying different dressings and ointments for Scarlett’s leg and arm. Her wound-care team at Methodist recommended Aquacel AG, a silver-containing dressing, and her family has been using it again over the past few days to see whether it helps manage the bacteria affecting her wounds.

They also tried a newer ointment that could potentially replace her current gentamicin treatment. Unfortunately, Scarlett developed redness and what appeared to be a reaction, so her family stopped using it and returned to her previous treatment.

Another concern has emerged as well. Her family noticed swelling around Scarlett’s right groin area during the past week and is now keeping a close watch on the change.

For now, Scarlett’s family is taking everything one day at a time while continuing to work closely with her medical team.

Please keep Scarlett and her family in your thoughts. Send this brave little girl some love, strength and encouragement as they navigate these latest concerns together. ❤️🕊️
