Pope Leo XIV: “In Times of Change, We Must Give Ourselves Generously”!lh

In a thoughtful address at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV urged Christians to respond to today’s rapidly changing world with generosity, courage, and solidarity, declaring that “in times of change, we must give ourselves generously.”

Speaking to pilgrims, clergy, and young people gathered for the audience, the Pope reflected on the uncertainty many societies face amid war, economic instability, technological transformation, and cultural division. He warned against fear, isolation, and indifference, encouraging believers instead to become active witnesses of hope and compᴀssion.

“Periods of change can tempt people to close themselves off,” Pope Leo said. “But the Gospel calls us to open our hearts, to serve others, and to share our gifts generously.” He emphasized that authentic Christian life is rooted not in self-preservation, but in self-giving love.

The Pontiff also praised volunteers, missionaries, healthcare workers, educators, and families who continue to support vulnerable communities despite growing difficulties. He noted that acts of generosity, even small ones, have the power to transform society and restore human dignity.
Concluding his message, Pope Leo XIV invited the faithful to trust in God during uncertain times and to become “builders of fraternity,” capable of bringing light, mercy, and hope to a changing world.
