A violent attack inside one of the United Kingdom’s highest-security prisons has resulted in three inmates receiving whole-life orders, meaning they will spend the remainder of their lives in prison without the possibility of release.

The case centered on the killing of Kyle Bevan at HMP Wakefield, a maximum-security prison in West Yorkshire. Prosecutors told the court that the attack was carefully planned and carried out by fellow inmates Mark Fellows, Lee Newell, and David Taylor.

According to evidence presented during the trial, the ᴀssault took place inside Bevan’s prison cell and lasted only a matter of minutes. Investigators later determined that the victim had been specifically targeted and that efforts were allegedly made to delay the discovery of what had occurred until the following morning.
