Investigation Concludes After Alabama Woman Found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Alongside Suspected Killer

A homicide investigation in Chambers County, Alabama, took an unusual turn after authorities discovered the bodies of a woman and the man suspected of killing her in a remote wooded area.
According to investigators, the case began on June 10, 2026, when a pᴀsserby noticed a pickup truck parked on a dirt road under suspicious circumstances. The vehicle was reportedly still running, and the driver’s door was open, prompting the person to contact authorities.
When deputies searched the surrounding area, they found the bodies of 47-year-old Jessica Folds and 44-year-old Daniel Robbins in nearby woods.
Investigators believe Robbins had transported Folds’ body to the remote location after allegedly killing her during a domestic dispute.

According to authorities, evidence at the scene indicated Robbins was attempting to conceal Folds’ body when he suddenly collapsed.
Autopsy results later determined that Folds died from strangulation, while Robbins died of natural causes after suffering a fatal heart attack.
Based on the evidence collected during the investigation, authorities identified Robbins as the primary suspect in Folds’ death. Because he died at the scene, no criminal charges will be filed, and the case will not proceed through the court system.
Investigators believe Folds had already been killed before her body was taken to the wooded area.
Jessica Folds, a mother of three adult sons, is being remembered by loved ones as they mourn her loss.

Although investigators say they have determined what they believe happened, the absence of a criminal trial means there will be no courtroom proceedings or formal adjudication of the allegations.
The case has also renewed attention to the dangers of domestic violence. Advocates continue to encourage anyone experiencing abuse or escalating violence in a relationship to seek help and report concerns before situations become life-threatening.
Authorities say the investigation is now complete following the autopsy findings and evidence collected at the scene.
While the legal process has come to an end because the suspected perpetrator is deceased, Folds’ family continues to grieve the loss of a mother and loved one whose life ended in a tragic act of violence.
