HMP WAKEFIELD PRISON MURDER: CCTV ALLEGEDLY SHOWS MOMENTS BEFORE KYLE BEVAN CELL ATTACK

Chilling CCTV footage presented in court is reported to show convicted child killer Kyle Bevan moments before he was followed into his cell at HMP Wakefield by three fellow inmates later accused of his murder.

Bevan, 33, had been serving a life sentence for the 2020 killing of his two-year-old stepdaughter Lola James in Wales. The footage reportedly captures him looking over his shoulder as the three prisoners approach and enter his cell shortly before the fatal attack.

According to court proceedings, Mark Fellows, Lee Newell, and David Taylor were later charged and convicted in connection with Bevan’s death. Prosecutors told the court that the ᴀssault took place inside the cell and was completed within minutes, after which Bevan was left inside his room until he was discovered during morning checks.

The court also heard that after the attack, efforts were allegedly made to conceal what had happened by repositioning the victim’s body in bed to make it appear as though he was asleep.

Following the trial, all three men were reportedly handed whole-life orders at Leeds Crown Court. Prosecutors described the incident as a coordinated and deliberate act carried out inside one of the UK’s highest-security prisons.

The case has prompted renewed attention on prison security at HMP Wakefield, a facility often described in media coverage as housing some of the country’s most dangerous offenders.

Authorities and prison officials continue to review internal procedures, including CCTV monitoring, cell access protocols, and staffing response times, as part of ongoing scrutiny following the incident.
