Gurpreet Digwa’s Separate Public Weapons Charges Have Intensified Scrutiny on the Family Already Linked to a Huge Arsenal Found Hours After Henry Nowak Was K*lled

While the Digwa family home was being searched for dozens of blades on 4 December 2025, twenty-seven-year-old Gurpreet Digwa was separately accused of carrying dangerous items openly in public, adding further charges that have compounded the pressure on the entire household. Court documents detail that Gurpreet faces allegations of possessing an extendable baton, a heavy axe, a ceremonial kirpan and a prohibited air weapon in public places, offences that sit alongside the joint family charges relating to the mᴀssive haul recovered from inside the property.

The items seized from the home included thirty-seven swords, three machetes, three ninja swords, eight pairs of knuckle dusters, two flick knives and the Japanese manriki-gusari chain weapon. Vickrum Digwa, already serving his life sentence with a twenty-one-year minimum for the murder of Henry Nowak, joined proceedings via video link and denied the new allegations together with his father Moga Singh and brother Gurpreet. All three men were granted unconditional bail except for Vickrum who remains in custody.

The combination of weapons allegedly kept at home and items reportedly carried outside has raised serious questions in Southampton about the family’s relationship with edged weapons and combat tools. Prosecutors have emphasised the volume and specialised nature of the collection, while the defence maintains that the men are innocent and that lawful explanations exist for the items. The public-carrying allegations against Gurpreet in particular have drawn attention because they occurred around the same period as the fatal stabbing of the eighteen-year-old student who was walking home after a night out when he encountered Vickrum Digwa. The ongoing legal process, which includes further forensic work and is expected to culminate in a multi-week trial, continues to attract significant local interest as residents seek to understand how and why such an array of weapons came to be ᴀssociated with one family in the wake of a high-profile murder that already involved contentious police actions captured on bodycam footage.
