FERN’S STORY: BORN WITH LIMB DIFFERENCES, SHE GREW UP KNOWING THAT DIFFERENCES CAN BE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE

For six-year-old Fern, childhood has always been filled with the things that matter most—playing with her sisters, laughing with friends, and enjoying everyday adventures.
Born with limb differences, Fern has already experienced major surgeries, therapy, and many hospital visits. But because she was so young when much of that treatment happened, she remembers little of those early challenges.
Instead, her family focused on making sure she grew up understanding that everyone is different in their own way.
