Stephanie Denise, 61, and Renny Smith, 65, turned heads and nearly stole the spotlight from A-list superstars like Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns when they showed up to Thursday’s victory parade in full wedding attire. “We married the championship after 53 years of being engaged,” the couple cheered to the crowds.

But here is the hilarious plot twist: The couple, who have been dating for eight months, didn’t actually tie the knot at the parade! They exclusively revealed that it was a staged “symbolic wedding” to celebrate the Knicks putting New York City back on the map.

The devoted superfans do, however, plan to officially say “I do” before the end of the year!
