South Africa — Authorities launched an unusual recovery operation after locating a crocodile suspected of containing the remains of Gabriel Batista, a 59-year-old businessman who had been reported missing following severe flooding.

According to police reports, Batista disappeared after attempting to drive across a flooded bridge while en route to his H๏τel and bar.

His vehicle was swept away by strong floodwaters into a river known to be inhabited by crocodiles.

Days later, investigators used drone surveillance to identify a large crocodile in the area that raised suspicions.

A coordinated operation was carried out in which officers tracked, sH๏τ, and airlifted the reptile to a secure location for examination.

Once the animal was recovered, authorities conducted a forensic procedure and discovered human remains inside.
