A woman who went viral after allegedly emptying a New York Knicks-branded public trash can onto a Manhattan sidewalk and taking the container has reportedly been fired from her position at JPMorgan Chase, where she worked as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) executive.

The incident, captured on video and widely shared across social media, sparked outrage among New Yorkers and prompted criticism over the misuse of public property. City officials condemned the behavior, stating:

“Dumping trash onto the street and stealing public property for your own personal use are both illegal, antisocial behaviors, and not what New Yorkers do.”
