💔🚨 Three Children Lost in Seconds: High-Speed Crash Leaves Fayetteville Community Mourning

FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA — A devastating crash that claimed the lives of three young siblings has left a North Carolina community grieving and searching for answers after a series of events ended in unimaginable tragedy.

The victims, identified as 3-year-old Jae’ Coda Thomas, 6-year-old Ju’ Mari Thomas, and 8-year-old Jack Thomas IV, were killed during a catastrophic crash on Cedar Creek Road on the night of June 3, 2026.

According to investigators, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m. after reports of a serious single-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, they encountered extensive damage and critically injured children trapped in the aftermath of the crash.

Authorities later determined that the vehicle had been traveling at speeds reaching approximately 111 miles per hour before the driver lost control, left the roadway, and struck a tree.

The impact was devastating.

Investigators reported that two of the children were ejected from the vehicle during the collision. A third child was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Officials stated that none of the children were secured with seat belts or child safety restraints at the time of the collision, a factor investigators say contributed significantly to the severity of the outcome.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Megan Symone Scott, survived the crash and now faces numerous felony charges related to the incident.

Court records indicate that the fatal collision occurred after an earlier domestic dispute involving Scott and her partner. Investigators allege that following the dispute, Scott fled the scene.

Authorities say officers later attempted to serve a warrant connected to the incident, but Scott allegedly refused to comply and drove away. During the encounter, investigators allege that two Fayetteville police officers were struck by the vehicle before the pursuit ended in the fatal crash.

Scott has since been charged with multiple offenses, including three counts of involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving to endanger, speeding, á´€ssault-related charges, failure to properly secure child pá´€ssengers, and other traffic and criminal violations.

She is currently being held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center while awaiting further court proceedings.

Emergency personnel who responded to the scene described the crash as one of the most tragic incidents they had encountered, citing the extreme vehicle damage and the difficult efforts made to save the children.

As legal proceedings move forward, the focus for many remains on the three young lives lost.

Family members, friends, and members of the Fayetteville community continue to mourn the deaths of Jae’ Coda, Ju’ Mari, and Jack—three children remembered for their innocence, their bright futures, and the joy they brought to those who loved them.

Their loss serves as a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly reckless decisions can lead to irreversible consequences. 🕊️💔
