They Turned a Wedding Into a Lifeline 

In 2015, a Turkish couple made a choice that would forever redefine the meaning of love and celebration.

Instead of hosting a lavish wedding reception, they decided to use their budget to feed 4,000 Syrian refugees in Kilis, a town near the Syrian border. The idea came from the groom’s father — a simple yet powerful suggestion. At first, the bride was taken aback, but she was soon deeply moved by the thought of turning their special day into something far more meaningful.

On their wedding day, still dressed in their wedding clothes, they stood side by side, serving food to families who had fled the ravages of war. A celebration not of luxury, but of humanity.
