Addressing students and academics at Sapienza University of Rome, Pope Leo XIV urged young people to become “artisans of true peace” in a world increasingly marked by conflict, division, and uncertainty. “Peace is not created only in treaties or insтιтutions,” Pope Leo said. “It is built daily through truth, respect, listening, and courage.” He encouraged students to reject indifference and polarization, warning that modern societies risk losing their humanity when compeтιтion and ideology replace compᴀssion.
