💙 FOUR MONTHS LATER, XAVIER’S FAMILY IS STILL WAITING FOR THE MOMENT THEY’VE DREAMED OF

Nearly four months after 12-year-old Xavier Taylor suffered a devastating baseball injury, his family is still holding тιԍнтly to hope.

Xavier was critically injured on May 26 while warming up before a championship game in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Since then, his family has remained by his side, watching for every small sign of progress.

💙 SIGNS OF PROGRESS

According to his father, Gregory Taylor, Xavier has gained weight and is now regulating his own body temperature. His lab results have also improved, and he has been moved from the hospital to a short-term care facility.

Those changes may seem small to some people, but for Xavier’s family, they represent meaningful steps forward after months of uncertainty.

Xavier remains on a ventilator, and there has been no confirmed report that he has awakened or begun speaking.

🙏 HIS FAMILY IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS VOICE

For Gregory, one of the most emotional thoughts is imagining what his son might say if he wakes up.

He told WPVI that he believes Xavier’s first words could simply be asking what he missed.

It is a simple thought — but after everything the family has endured, that moment would mean everything.

🫶 A COMMUNITY THAT HASN’T STOPPED CARING

Support for Xavier has extended far beyond his family.

More than $100,000 has been raised to help the family, while the community has continued showing its support. In June, the Ben Franklin Bridge and Camden City Hall were illuminated in blue in Xavier’s honor.

For nearly four months, people who know Xavier — and many who have never met him — have continued to hope for the same thing:

That one day, they will hear his voice again.

For now, his family continues to celebrate every sign of progress and hold onto hope for what comes next.
