Pike, the only woman currently on Tennessee’s d#ath row, was sentenced to d#ath for the 1995 m#rder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. She was 18 at the time and has spent more than three decades on d#ath row.

Her attorneys continue to challenge the planned execution, including arguments concerning Tennessee’s lethal-injection protocol, Pike’s medical conditions and her history of trauma. A court hearing examining those issues concluded in August, with the matter continuing through the state’s legal process.

Meanwhile, Pike’s legal team has also sought clemency, asking that her sentence be commuted to life in pr#son without par#le.

With the state now preparing for media coverage, the September 30 date remains officially scheduled — while the legal and clemency proceedings surrounding Pike continue.
