‼️ MORE THAN THREE MONTHS AFTER A BASEBALL STRUCK 12-YEAR-OLD XAVIER TAYLOR AND LEFT HIM IN CARDIAC ARREST, HIS NAME IS NOW BEING CARRIED BY PRAYER GROUPS FAR BEYOND HIS NEW JERSEY COMMUNITY.

On May 26, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor was taking part in baseball warmups in New Jersey when he was struck in the neck by a baseball.

He collapsed and went into cardiac arrest.

Xavier survived the initial emergency, but he remains in a coma as his family continues hoping and praying for his recovery.

Months later, his story has reached far beyond the baseball field where the accident happened.

Baseball teams have worn No. 6 in his honor. Families have placed bats on their porches. Communities have organized vigils, fundraisers and prayer gatherings.

People who have never met Xavier have learned his name—and have chosen to stand beside his family.

Now, organizers are preparing for what they hope will be an even larger show of support.

On Saturday, September 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., churches, families, pastors, prayer groups and believers are being invited to Karcher Field at the Woodlawn Sports Center in Maple Shade, New Jersey, for a Night of Prayer & Praise.

Xavier’s healing will be at the heart of the gathering.

But organizers say the evening is meant to become something bigger than one family’s struggle.

They are inviting people to pray for families everywhere who are facing illness, heartbreak and uncertainty—for healing, restoration, breakthrough and hope.

And participation isn’t limited to those who can physically attend.

Churches and ministries across the United States and around the world are being encouraged to gather at the same time. Some may meet inside churches. Others may pray around kitchen tables, in small prayer circles or through Zoom and the livestreamed event.

The goal is simple: to “light the map up” with prayer.

Organizers are asking people to pause at 5 p.m. Eastern on September 19 and join in however they can.

They are asking for prayers specifically for Xavier’s brain and body, for strength for his parents and family, and for the medical team caring for him.

They are also asking people to remember every other child and family currently waiting for healing and hope.

Churches and Christian organizations have been encouraged to help provide Bibles for attendees and share pH๏τographs and testimonies from prayer gatherings taking place in other locations.

What began with one 12-year-old boy on a baseball field has now become a movement of people determined not to let his family face this journey alone.

His name has crossed state lines.

His No. 6 jersey has appeared on fields far from home.

And now, organizers hope his name will be lifted in prayer around the world.

For Xavier’s family, the waiting continues.

So does the hope.
