When little Jackson was born at just 24 weeks, he weighed barely more than 2 pounds.

After spending his entire life in the hospital, Jackson’s lungs are finally showing encouraging progress.

His medical team has been carefully monitoring how much ventilator support he needs, with plans to gradually reduce that support as his lungs continue to strengthen. 🥹✨

And for the first time, his parents can truly picture something they have dreamed about since the day he was born:

bringing their baby home. 🏡💗

🙏🌈 ONE LAST HURDLE
Jackson’s parents have been learning how to care for him outside the hospital, including managing his tracheostomy, ventilator and feeding tube.

But there is still one important piece missing.

Because Jackson has complex medical needs, his family needs enough private-duty nurses in place before he can safely be discharged.

So even though Jackson has already overcome so much, his journey home is still waiting on the right people to help care for him. 💙

Just months ago, his family was celebrating every tiny gain and praying for stronger lungs.

Now they’re preparing his room, completing their training and hoping the nurses they need will soon be found.
