💔 She said she never intended for him to d!e. But investigators say the physical evidence—and her changing stories—raised troubling questions.

Ashanti Brown, 23, is facing serious criminal charges after her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ian Pleasant, was found fatally sh**t inside their Pensacola apartment on August 31, 2026.

Escambia County deputies were called to the Madison Shores apartment complex on Pine Forest Road following reports of a sh**ting. When officers arrived, they found Pleasant suffering from a gnsH๏τ wound. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dad at the scene.

Investigators identified Brown, Pleasant’s girlfriend, as the person who was inside the apartment with him when the sh**ting occurred.

According to authorities, the couple had been arguing after Pleasant allegedly discovered that Brown had been communicating with other men through text messages.

During a court hearing, Detective Ashley Wallace described the different accounts Brown allegedly gave investigators about what happened.

In her first version, Brown reportedly said she grabbed a firearm during the argument and pointed it at Pleasant. She allegedly told police that Pleasant challenged her before moving toward her, at which point she f!red.

But detectives said the physical evidence did not support that explanation.

Pleasant had been sh**t in the back. Investigators argued that the location of the wound was inconsistent with Brown’s claim that he was moving toward her when the weapon was f!red.

Authorities said Brown later provided another explanation.

During a second interview, she allegedly claimed the confrontation became physical after the two fought over a cellphone. Brown reportedly said she kicked Pleasant in the stomach, causing him to fall backward toward a kitchen counter.

According to that account, Pleasant’s hand landed on a firearm. Brown allegedly said she tried to take the weapon away, and it accidentally discharged during the struggle, striking Pleasant in the lower-right side of his back.

Again, detectives questioned the story.

Investigators said the wound location and bullet trajectory did not support the claim that the firearm accidentally discharged during a struggle.

Police also raised questions about Brown’s actions immediately afterward.

Authorities allege she did not call 911 right away. Instead, investigators said she contacted another male friend and asked him to come to the apartment. Brown and the man later reportedly left using Pleasant’s vehicle.

The investigation took another turn when detectives discovered that potential evidence had allegedly been removed.

Police said Brown attempted to dispose of a Ring doorbell camera connected to Pleasant’s home. Investigators initially heard an account that the camera and cellphone had been discarded while Brown and the male friend were driving through Santa Rosa County.

The friend allegedly denied helping hide evidence and gave investigators a different account.

Authorities said Brown eventually changed her explanation and admitted that the Ring camera had been thrown into a drainage area near a family friend’s home. Detectives later recovered the device.

The firearm believed to have been used in Pleasant’s d*ath has not been recovered.

As the case moves forward, investigators continue examining the conflicting statements and physical evidence surrounding Pleasant’s d*ath.

For now, Brown remains accused, and the allegations against her have not been proven in court. ⚖️
