A letter Lindsay Clancy wrote to a friend before the 2023 tragedy has drawn attention for its message about motherhood.

DUXBURY, MᴀssACHUSETTS: The friend of a mother, who is accused of killing her three children, has spoken in favor of her and shed light on how she was very different from her current portrayal. Lindsay Clancy’s pal, Brittany Jeane Lyman, recently took to Facebook to show the world a kind and powerful side of the “killer” mother, who allegedly fatally strangled her three children, daughter Cora, 5, son Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.

While the older two children died on January 24 immediately after the attack, the youngest one tragically died on January 27. Lindsay also reportedly tried to kill herself but she survived. It has been said that currently, she is admitted to a hospital in Boston. The 32-year-old is also facing multiple charges, including two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation or suffocation, and three counts of ᴀssault and battery with a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly weapon.

‘Her message is too important’
Not much detail has currently been out about the heartwrenching case, but it has been speculated that Lindsay was suffering from a rare disorder, called postpartum psychosis (PPP), which occurs after childbirth. Since then, a lot of people have come out in her support, including her husband Patrick Clancy.

Now, one of her friends, Lyman, has also backed her and posted a letter on the social media site, which she received from the accused years ago “when I was expecting my son and about to become a new mom.” The handwritten note said, “The biggest congratulations on your sweet baby boy! Be ready for the wildest ride of your life — motherhood. It is the most profoundly challenging yet deeply fulfilling experience you will ever have.”

The letter also stated, “Know that everything is a phase. When things get tough, know that the phase will pᴀss and before you know it you’ll be on to a new phase. Enjoy the fun, precious, joyous moments because there are so many of those too!” before adding, “You will naturally take beautiful care of your baby but always remember to also take care of yourself. Remember who you were before you become a mother. I am unbelievingly happy for you and always here for you!!”

In the caption, Lyman wrote, “It was a gut punch to find this letter in my drawer the other day. To see this beautiful handwriting that I remember so well from our high school days. The past 7 days have been heart-wrenching to say the least, but the warmth that I felt while reading this just has to be shared with someone else.”

She further continued, “Her message is too important. I don’t have the words to adequately describe the kind of mother she was to her three babies, or the kind of friend she has been for the past 20 years, so the easiest thing to do is share hers.”
