James Martin has celebrated a major milestone after his ITV programme, James Martin’s Saturday Morning, earned its first-ever nomination at the National Television Awards.

The show was shortlisted in the Best Daytime category for the 2025 NTAs, putting Martin and his team among the final four programmes competing for the award.

A MILESTONE AFTER 32 YEARS ON TELEVISION

For Martin, the nomination was particularly meaningful because he had spent 32 years working in television without previously receiving an NTA nomination.

Sharing the news with fans, the chef thanked viewers for getting the programme onto the shortlist and encouraged them to support the show in the public vote.

The nomination also represented recognition for the wider team behind Saturday Morning, which has been broadcast on ITV since 2017.

ITV SHOW GOES UP AGAINST MAJOR DAYTIME FAVOURITES

The programme was shortlisted alongside This Morning, Loose Women and the BBC’s Scam Interceptors in the Best Daytime category.

The nomination placed Martin’s Saturday morning cooking show alongside some of British television’s most established daytime programmes.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE NTAs?

The National Television Awards took place at London’s O2 Arena on September 10, 2025.

Although Martin’s programme made the final four, This Morning ultimately won the Best Daytime award.

Martin later thanked everyone who had voted and described reaching the final four as a special achievement for the programme.

While the show did not take home the trophy, the nomination marked an important milestone for Martin and his long-running ITV programme.

After decades on television, the recognition gave James Martin’s Saturday Morning its first appearance on the NTA shortlist — a moment Martin described as particularly significant for both himself and the team behind the show.
