The investigation into the d3ath of a newborn baby girl in Sheffield has entered a new stage after prosecutors confirmed that four adults and a 15-year-old girl have been charged in connection with the case.

Police were called at around 5:58 a.m. on August 30 after concerns were raised about the safety of a newborn baby in the Wincobank area. Officers searched a property on Holywell Heights, where the infant was found. Despite efforts by emergency services, she was pronounced d3ad at the scene. A forensic post-mortem later determined that the cause of d3ath was st@b wounds.

Police initially arrested seven people aged between 15 and 38. Two women, aged 26 and 37, were later released on bail, while five people remained in custody as investigators continued gathering evidence.

On September 2, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed charges against Andrea Skopova, 20; Peter Horvath Jr, 19; Peter Horvath Sr, 38; and Nina Horvathova, 37. The four adults face charges including m*rd3r, causing or allowing the d3ath of a child, and perverting the course of justice. A 15-year-old girl, who cannot legally be named because of her age, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Contrary to the dramatic wording circulating online, the official statements I found do not say that a judge was “horrified” by what the teenager allegedly did or that the court rejected a specific bail request after hearing details about her actions at the scene. What is confirmed is that all five charged defendants were remanded in custody ahead of court proceedings.

The case remains active. The CPS has specifically warned that the defendants have the right to a fair trial and that online speculation or commentary could prejudice the proceedings. The allegations therefore should not be treated as established facts unless and until they are proved in court.
