Bonnie initially made it outside, while one daughter escaped through the window. But when she realized toddler Grace had not made it out, she returned inside despite the enormous danger.

Firefighters eventually entered the duplex while searching for anyone who might still be trapped.

What they found revealed the extraordinary lengths Bonnie had gone to protect her child.

She was discovered unconscious, with her body positioned around Grace.

According to the family’s fundraiser, she had been deprived of oxygen for approximately 15 minutes and suffered burns covering roughly 48% of her body.

Firefighters rescued both mother and daughter and rushed Bonnie to a nearby hospital.

Grace survived.

Bonnie did not.

She fought for two days before pᴀssing away on Monday at just 38 years old.

Her toddler remains hospitalized, but the family fundraiser says Grace is expected to make a full recovery. ❤️
