THE FAMILY IN THE GREEN HOUSE SURVIVED — A MOMENT OF HOPE AMID NEPAL’S DEVASTATING FLOODS

During Nepal’s devastating flash floods, a powerful video captured a family trapped on the second-floor balcony of a mint-green house as floodwaters carrying mud, rocks and debris rushed through the area.

Buildings and vehicles around them were swept away or severely damaged, while the people inside the house stayed together and waited, hoping the structure would withstand the powerful flooding.

As the footage spread online, many viewers were left wondering what happened to the family.

Later videos shared online reportedly showed that the people inside the green house had survived and were evacuated after conditions became safer. The house remained standing despite the destruction surrounding it.

Their reported survival became a small but meaningful moment of hope during a disaster that has affected countless families across Nepal.

But beyond this one remarkable story, many communities have suffered enormous losses and continue to face difficult conditions in the aftermath of the flooding.

One family making it through does not erase the wider devastation.

Yet in the middle of overwhelming uncertainty, the image of that green house still standing became a reminder of why hope can matter so deeply during a disaster — especially when so much has been lost around it.
