THE UNTOLD STORY OF DOLLY PARTON’S 11 SIBLINGS — THE FAMILY THAT SHAPED HER LONG BEFORE FAME

Long before Dolly Parton became a global music icon, she was simply one of 12 children growing up in a close-knit Tennessee family.
Dolly was the fourth child of Robert and Avie Lee Parton. She grew up alongside six brothers and five sisters, in a household where music, faith and family were central parts of everyday life. Her siblings would eventually follow remarkably different paths, with some entering entertainment while others chose lives far away from public attention.
Her oldest sister, Willadeene, became a writer and later published books about the Parton family. Stella pursued a career in music, while Rachel became both a performer and actress. Cᴀssie and Freida also developed connections to music and performance in different ways.
Brother Randy followed Dolly into music and worked with her on several projects. Floyd, another musically talented sibling, also collaborated with Dolly and contributed to her songwriting legacy.
But not everyone in the family wanted a life in front of cameras.
