💔🙏 AT 21, HE SURVIVED A 50-FOOT FALL — NOW HIS FAMILY IS PRAYING HE’LL WALK AGAIN

At just 21 years old, Justus Bulkley survived a fall that could have ended his life.

Now, his family is facing a very different kind of uncertainty.

They are praying that he will be able to walk again.

Justus lives with his family in Wake Village, outside Texarkana, Texas, and has worked as an arborist for approximately four years.

On August 15, he was performing residential tree work when, according to his wife Kaitlynn, the line supporting him failed after being damaged by a chainsaw.

Justus fell roughly 45 to 50 feet.

The injuries were devastating.

Kaitlynn says Justus suffered injuries involving the T6 through T12 region of his back, burst fractures involving L1 and L2, and a severely shattered right heel that required surgeons to place six screws.

The family was also told that a piece of bone had come within approximately an inch of his spinal cord and was pressing against nerves.

He survived the fall.

But surviving did not mean life would simply return to normal.

Doctors have told Justus that he will never be able to climb again.

That means his work as an arborist is over. And another dream he had been working toward — becoming a lineman — is no longer possible either.

At only 21, Justus is now facing a future he never imagined.

His focus has shifted from climbing trees and building a career to something much more basic:

Standing. Walking. Healing. ❤️‍🩹

Kaitlynn says Justus may be unable to work for three to six months while his body recovers.

For the past four years, Justus has been the primary provider for their family while Kaitlynn stayed home caring for their young child.

The accident has suddenly reversed those roles.

Now Kaitlynn is applying for jobs while caring for their child and helping her husband navigate a long and uncertain recovery.

“He has taken care of me all this time. It’s my turn to step up,” she said.

She admits she is frightened by what lies ahead.

“I have no idea what this next chapter looks like.”

Yet despite the uncertainty, Kaitlynn says she is holding тιԍнтly to her faith and is determined to do whatever she can to keep her family moving forward.

There are many things Justus may never be able to do again.

But his family is choosing to focus on what they hope he will do again.

Stand.

Walk.

Heal.

And eventually, perhaps, discover a new dream. 🙏
