💔🙏 THIS TEXAS MOM IS FIGHTING FOR MORE TIME — AND SHE JUST WANTS ONE MORE BIRTHDAY WITH HER SON

For most parents, a child’s birthday is a celebration of another year of life, another year of memories and another year to look forward to.

For Texas mother Roxanne Mancias, her son’s birthday carries something much heavier.

Joshua turns 13 this Sunday.

And Roxanne is desperately hoping she will still be here to celebrate his 14th.

For nearly a year, people have followed Roxanne’s battle against aggressive triple-negative breast cancer. Her cancer has continued to spread despite treatment, and she says doctors at MD Anderson originally estimated that she had approximately 12 to 18 months to live.

Now, Roxanne believes that window may have narrowed to around seven months. 💔

She says the cancer has spread to lymph nodes in both armpits, her chest wall, neck and groin, as well as her left lung. Doctors have also discovered another mᴀss behind her diaphragm near her spine.

There is no cure.

But Roxanne is still fighting for time.

She is enrolled in a clinical study and continues attending appointments and treatments two or three times a week. Once a month, she is hospitalized after receiving the research medication.

The treatments are exhausting.

The fear is overwhelming.

But one thought keeps bringing her back to the fight: Joshua.

“I’m so exhausted, but I’m scared to leave Joshua,” she said.

Then her son said something that made the uncertainty even more painful.

“Maybe on my next birthday we can go on a vacation, mom.”

Roxanne couldn’t promise him that future.

“To not be able to say yes and plan something because you know you might not make it until then, hurts so much,” she explained.

So instead of focusing on a birthday that may be months away, Roxanne is focusing on the one directly in front of her.

Joshua’s 13th.

She recently planned a celebration for him at Main Event. When she invited his friends, only one had initially confirmed.

But Roxanne says that doesn’t change what she wants most.

“If this is the last birthday with him, I just want to make it super special and see him the happiest I ever have.”

Those words capture the heartbreaking reality of her situation.

She isn’t afraid of what cancer may do to her.

She is afraid of what her absence could mean for her son.

“I’m not afraid to die. I’m just afraid to leave him,” Roxanne once said.

This Sunday, she gets another birthday with Joshua.

And for now, that is enough.

Not the seven months she fears may remain.

Not the birthday she is terrified she may miss.

Just this day.

This celebration.

This moment beside her son. ❤️
