More than six months after Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her Arizona home, troubling questions are now being raised about how the investigation was handled during its crucial early hours. 😔🔎

A recent report based on interviews and investigative records alleges that several potentially important steps were delayed or mishandled after Nancy vanished.

One of the most concerning claims involves dried blood discovered on Nancy’s front porch. Investigators allegedly initially believed the blood was unrelated to her disappearance. Later testing reportedly confirmed that it belonged to Nancy and that it may be connected to her suspected abduction. 🩸🏠

The report also alleges that Nancy’s home was not immediately secured as a crime scene, allowing reporters, livestreamers and delivery workers to access the porch during the early stages of the investigation. 🚨📹

There were reportedly concerns about other early investigative decisions as well, including delays in aerial searches and questions surrounding the experience of some personnel ᴀssigned to the case. ✈️🔎

Nancy was last seen on January 31, 2026, and authorities believe she was taken from her home against her will. The FBI has been ᴀssisting with the investigation, which is being treated as a kidnapping-for-ransom case.
