๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿ’— Mumโ€™s Joy as Brave Little Girl Takes First Steps on Prosthetic Legs

A heartwarming video has captured a motherโ€™s overwhelming joy as her brave little daughter โ€” who lost all four limbs after a life-threatening case of meningitis โ€” takes her first independent steps on prosthetic legs. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฆฟ๐Ÿ’•

Harmonie-Rose Allen was just 11 months old when she was struck by a rare and devastating form of meningitis that nearly took her life.

Doctors gave her only a 10 percent chance of survival. To save her life, surgeons were forced to amputate both of her legs and arms after the infection caused severe tissue damage. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿฅ

But Harmonie-Rose refused to give up.

After being fitted with prosthetic limbs, the little girl spent almost two years learning how to use them and building the strength and confidence needed to walk. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿฆฟ

Her mum, Freya, said Harmonie-Rose wanted her new prosthetic legs decorated with unicorns because โ€œthey are magic and will help me walk.โ€ ๐Ÿฆ„โœจ

Now three years old, Harmonie-Rose has achieved a milestone her family once could only dream about.

In an emotional video filmed inside the family home in Bath, Somerset, the little girl can be seen taking her first unaided steps across the living room โ€” while her mum screams with excitement and pride. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’—

The prosthetic legs were purchased from Dorset Orthopaedics using money raised through the Hope 4 Harmonie campaign, which received donations from almost 2,000 supporters. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•

Freya shared her joy online:

โ€œShe has done it. Our princess has done it. Just this morning. She has walked on her brand new pair of legs.โ€

โ€œWOW, she has amazed us. We are so proud of her and cannot believe we can finally say she can walk!โ€ ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฆฟ

โ€œEvery day she shows us that nothing is impossible. Sheโ€™s our inspirational, determined, little warrior.โ€

Freya also thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising campaign, saying that without their support, the family would not be where they are today. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™

Harmonie-Roseโ€™s journey began when her parents, Freya and Ross, noticed something was wrong with their only child after she woke during the night coughing and struggling to breathe.

They took her to hospital in Bath, but doctors initially found no serious problem and sent her home.

The following morning, Harmonie-Rose had turned blue, prompting her parents to rush her back to hospital. She was examined again and initially diagnosed with a virus before being sent home once more.

Hours later, her condition deteriorated dramatically.

She became extremely weak and exhausted, and her parents rushed her back to hospital. This time, doctors noticed a distinctive purple rash and quickly transferred her by ambulance to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’”

By the time she reached intensive care, the infection had already caused devastating damage to her arms and legs.

Freya recalled watching the purple marks spread across her daughterโ€™s body.

โ€œWhen we walked in to see Harmonie I could hardly believe what I was seeing,โ€ she said.

Doctors warned the family that Harmonie-Rose might lose part of her nose โ€” and that was only if she survived. ๐Ÿ˜ข

As the infection continued to attack her body, the family received even more devastating news: the damage to her limbs was so severe that both arms and both legs would have to be amputated to save her life.

Harmonie-Rose underwent dozens of operations during her long recovery. ๐Ÿฅโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Yet years later, she is still showing the world just how far determination can take you.

With her tiny unicorn-decorated prosthetic legs beneath her, Harmonie-Rose has taken her first steps โ€” turning an unimaginable childhood battle into a moment filled with hope, courage and joy. ๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿฆฟ๐ŸŒˆ

โ€œKeep hoping for Harmonie. Itโ€™s working.โ€ ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™
