💙 “When I Get Better”: 7-Year-Old Hudson Holds Onto Hope as His Family Prays for a Miracle
For Hudson “Huddy” Simmons, childhood has been marked by challenges far beyond what a 7-year-old should have to face.
The little boy from Glenwood, Arkansas, was living an ordinary childhood until November 2025, when his right arm and leg suddenly became weak. His family soon received devastating news: doctors had discovered a tumor in his brainstem.
Hudson was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and highly aggressive childhood brain tumor.
Despite the difficult diagnosis, Hudson and his family refused to stop hoping.
He completed 30 rounds of radiation treatment, and for a time, there was encouraging news. The tumor became smaller, giving the family renewed hope that another opportunity might be possible. 🌈
Hudson was then being considered for a clinical trial in St. Louis, a possibility his loved ones had hoped might give him another path forward.
But before that opportunity could happen, new areas appeared.
The clinical trial was no longer an option.
In recent weeks, Hudson’s condition has become increasingly difficult. He has been speaking less, sleeping more, and now needs help getting up. His doctors have told the family that his illness is continuing to progress and that there are no further treatment options available.
Hudson is now home with his family, receiving hospice care and surrounded by the people who love him most. 💙
For his family, every moment together has become precious.
Jaclyn, one of Hudson’s family members, described the experience with heartbreaking honesty: “Seeing someone you love fight so hard is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”
Yet through all of this, Hudson continues to hold onto something powerful: hope.
According to his family, he doesn’t speak about if he will get better.
He speaks about when.
That small word has become a source of strength for everyone around him. 🙏
Hudson will turn 8 on August 20, and his family is praying with all their hearts that he will be there to celebrate his birthday.
They are asking people everywhere to remember Hudson in their prayers — for healing, comfort, peace, and strength for his mother, Bethany, and their entire family.
His story is heartbreaking, but it is also a reminder of the extraordinary hope that can live inside a child.
A birthday candle.
A family together.
Another smile.
Another day.
These moments may seem small, but to Hudson’s loved ones, they mean everything. 🎂💙
As his family continues to believe in a miracle, they are asking others to stand with them.
So if you have a moment today, say his name.
Pray for Hudson. Pray for his family. And pray that hope carries them through every moment ahead. 🙏💙
