According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to reports of an incident at approximately 6:00 a.m. Thursday at a short-term rental property near State Route 51 and Shea Boulevard. Authorities confirmed that a young man suffered a critical chest injury and was later pronounced deceased.

Tyler’s family identified him as the victim.

For his mother, Kimberly Younkins, the heartbreaking reality has been almost impossible to accept.

“Somebody took my baby from me… I don’t know who, but I want justice to be served,” she said through tears.
