Adriano, who had a known milk protein allergy, went to his usual ice cream parlour in Casoria, near Naples. He carefully ordered flavours he believed were safe. However, shortly after eating the cone, he began feeling unwell.

Friends rushed him to his father’s house, where the teenager desperately told his dad over the intercom:

“Dad, help me… I’m not feeling well, I’m fainting.”

His father tried to save him by administering cortisone, but it was too late. Emergency services pronounced Adriano ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at the scene.

The ice cream shop has been investigated, with samples taken for analysis. Carabinieri (Italian police) are working with the Prosecutor’s Office of Naples North to determine exactly what caused the fatal reaction.

The local mayor expressed the town’s grief, saying the community is devastated by the loss of such a young life.

This tragic case has sparked renewed calls for stricter allergen controls in food businesses and greater awareness around severe food allergies.
