APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — A Southern California community is mourning the loss of a pregnant mother and her unborn twins after a devastating crash that also left her two teenage children seriously injured.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred on June 27, 2026, at the intersection of Wichita and Zuni roads in Apple Valley.

Authorities say 33-year-old Lorena Lopez was driving her Nissan Altima to a family gathering with her 15-year-old and 16-year-old children when a 25-year-old driver in a Toyota Camry allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with her vehicle.
