HALLANDALE BEACH, Florida — An 11-year-old girl remains hospitalized after being seriously injured during a violent incident outside a McDonald’s in Hallandale Beach, leaving her family shaken and the local community searching for answers.
According to authorities, the incident occurred Saturday afternoon near the 800 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard while the family had stopped at the restaurant for a meal.
Investigators say the girl’s mother had gone inside the restaurant to pick up food, while the child remained in the family’s vehicle with her father and two younger siblings, ages 2 and 5.
Police say an altercation involving 18-year-old Ralph N-Kosi Blue III, an employee at the restaurant, escalated in the parking lot. During the confrontation, multiple g*nsH๏τs were fired toward another individual, but several rounds struck the family’s vehicle instead.
The 11-year-old girl suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she underwent complex emergency surgery. According to a GoFundMe page created by relatives, she is now receiving specialized pediatric care and faces a lengthy recovery that will include continued medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Her father also sustained an injury to his leg during the incident. He has since been released from the hospital, while the girl’s mother and her two younger siblings escaped physical injury but continue coping with the emotional trauma of witnessing the frightening events.
