EsSєx Police have expanded their investigation into the death of 12-year-old Bobby Bloomfield following the arrest of four additional individuals on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Authorities describe the case as complex and are continuing to examine whether there were attempts to interfere with the investigation after the incident occurred.

The four individuals—a 65-year-old man, a 54-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman, and a 45-year-old woman, all from the Pilgrims Hatch area near Brentwood—were taken into custody on Tuesday and remain under investigation.

These arrests follow the charges previously brought against a 15-year-old boy and 43-year-old William Lunnon, who have both been charged with murder in connection with Bobby’s death.

According to investigators, Bobby suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Ashwells Road shortly before 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 7. Despite emergency medical treatment, he later died in hospital.

Court proceedings have indicated that the incident may have begun following a dispute involving private property. Prosecutors allege that Bobby and several friends were asked to leave an area before events escalated into a vehicle pursuit. It has also been alleged that the 15-year-old was driving the vehicle involved in the collision.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding these allegations, and all claims will ultimately be examined through the legal process.

Police have not publicly disclosed the specific details related to the latest arrests. However, investigators stated that the allegations involve possible interference with the investigation, including issues related to witness statements, evidence handling, or information provided during the early stages of the inquiry.

William Lunnon, who is from Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, and the unnamed 15-year-old have both appeared in court and were remanded in custody. The teenager is being held in an appropriate youth detention facility while awaiting further proceedings. Both are scheduled to appear again at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Investigators have emphasized that the inquiry remains active and that all available evidence is being reviewed. EsSєx Police have also appealed for anyone with information, including witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
