The Jets have their guy, and he’s one of their own.
On Wednesday afternoon, the team selected former Jets defensive back and ex-Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as the 19th full-time head coach in franchise history.
This season, Glenn helped lead the Lions to a 15-2 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, despite injuries plaguing his group. His Detroit defenses have ranked 29th, 32nd, 19th, and 20th in his four years in yards allowed per game, and 31st, 28th, 23rd and seventh in points allowed.
However, despite Glenn’s success, history with the team and appeal to the fans, all the highs and lows of the next Jets season likely will hinge on who the quarterback is.
