Karl-Anthony Towns switched gears, or in this case, gear.
The Knicks star was roasted by fans early during Wednesday’s game against the 76ers for wearing an Eagles sweater while sitting on the bench with an injured thumb at Wells Fargo Center.
Well, in the second half, KAT started donning a more team-appropriate blue and orange top, a NYON — New York or Nowhere — branded long-sleeve rugby shirt similar to one available on the Knicks’ official merchandise store.
Towns, after the Knicks’ overtime win, chimed in on social media about the wardrobe change.
“Aye twitter, Sweat stains ain’t it on ESPN. Had to pull another fit out! anyways…GO BIRDS,” Towns wrote on X.
Towns wore the retro Eagles gear at the start of the game and even got the approval of teammate Jalen Brunson for the decision.
That didn’t stop fans from criticizing Towns, who is an unabashed Eagles fan.
