It stands as the highest fort in Maharashtra, rising to a majestic alтιтude of 5141 feet (1567 meters). Historically, Salher played a key role during the reign of Shivaji Maharaj and was the site of the famous Battle of Salher, a landmark event in Maratha history.

The trek to Salher starts from base villages like Salherwadi and Waghamba and is categorized as moderately difficult. With steep rock-cut stairs and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, it takes around 8 to 9 hours to complete the trek.
